Welcome, New Dr!

I am not at all embarrassed to say that I am a huge Dr Who fan.  Ok, so I had a bit of a hard time when David Tennant left the show and I've only recently warmed to Matt Smith.  And now threre's a new Dr in the house!

I was a late starter on Dr Who.  It's been on TV since the 1960s and I vaguely remember watching Sylvester McCoy as the Dr in the late 80s before I moved to America but it just didn't really work for me because I was more interested in Swallows and Amazons, My Little Ponies and Enid Blyton.

When the BBC revived Dr Who in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston I was immediately hooked.  When  he regenerated into David Tennant in 2005 I was addicted.

Then there was that episode with Rose in Bad Wolf Bay after she got sucked into the vortex and I cried.  Yes, I my eyes actually leaked.

Since then it's been hard for Dr Who to meet my ultra high standards.  There have been some good story lines and some pretty amazing new assistants.

So the next thing to look forward to is Peter Capaldi as the Dr.  Ok, so he's a little older that I thought the new Dr would be and I have no idea what type of Dr he will be but I'm excited and hope that it doesn't take me so long to warm to him as it did with Matt Smith!

Oh and as a big Prime Suspect fan I'll not be able to look at him without thinking of him as Vera...

  1. nks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
