Photo a Day 2016: February

I started a photo a day project (PAD) in 2014 and am still going! This is my photo a day and round up for February 2016

This year seemed to start off quite slowly but it's now flying by!

I'm still on track with one of my resolutions (reading challenge) but have been pretty rubbish with the others however I have a whole week off work coming up so hope to spend more time in the kitchen trying out new things!  Have you managed to stick with your resolutions so far?

We've been pretty lucky here in Twickenham with the weather and have only had to scrape ice off my car in the mornings a handful of times but part of me misses the proper winter weather our northern friends have had.

Tv of the month: Without a doubt, "The League".  I can't remember how we came across this but Mr Jones and I have loved it from the very start.  Don't let the American Football aspect of it put you off if you're not a fan (like me) - it's so much more than just a fantasy football league!  Great characters, really good script and great jokes that carry through the whole series which makes you feel like you're part of an "in-joke".

Film of the month:   It's not really been a busy month for films but we did take a trip into Richmond to watch "The Revenant".  I went into the cinema having no idea what it was about or was going to happen in the film except *that* bear scene that I think everyone myst have seen.  It was quite a long film and think that it could have been cut down a little if some of the lingering and moody shots looking up at trees were taken out but it was visually stunning, if a little grim in places and did enjoy it very much!

Book of the month:   I managed to get through four books in February for my reading challenge and enjoyed every one however my favourite of the month was "The Third Wife" by one of my favourite authors, Lisa Jewell.  It's a story about Adrian, his two ex-wives, his merged families and a little bit of a mystery around the death of his third wife.  Sounds a little heavy but it was an enjoyable read and intriguing plot.

Ear worm of the month: Yep, another Coldplay month.  I found the video for "Hymn for the Weekend" and listened to it non-stop for a couple of hours at work.  The video is colourful and the song is catchy, ethereal and completely addictive.

Favourite food of the month: After our trip to the cinema at the beginning of the month we had a late lunch at Wagamama which is somewhere I need to visit more because there are so many things on the menu I want to try!  I started with the agedashi tofu (not the best I've ever had but still nice) followed by yasai ramen - Japanese omelette, crispy coated silken tofu and mushrooms all in a veggie broth with noodles.  It was epic.  I couldn't eat the whole thing.  It came with some sort of ladle which I had no idea what to do with (please tell me if you know!).  It was basically all my favourite things in a massive bowl.

Best day:  We met up with Mr Jones' nephew on the South Bank - it was great to feel like a bit of a tourist gawping at the sheer size of the London Eye,  admiring Big Ben, etc.  We headed to the nearest Byron Burger for a spot of lunch (great burgers, by the way - I highly recommend the "Smoky") and a catch up.

I use Collect to gather and sort out all of my "photo a day" pictures but do tend to also upload them to Instagram…want to see each picture from the last month?  Let's be friends!
