Photo a Day 2016: March

March absolutely flew by!  It could have been because it finally felt like spring with blue skies, shining sun and brighter mornings.  I think it was probably because I got up to quite a lot - a week off work relaxing, a trip to London, lots of things going on at work...

March is a great month for food!  The start of spring means lots of my favourite greens - spinach, artichoke, broccoli...lamb is also tasty this time of year and perfect for an Easter Sunday roast!

I started a photo a day project back in 2014 - this is my PAD and round up for March 2016

Tv of the month: I watched some great programmes this month - Garfunkel and Oates (quirky), Stag (veeeery odd and creepy but somehow still funny)...my favourite(s) has to be the "This is England" series.  I ploughed through "This is England" '86, '88 and '90 in one weekend and although it was quite gritty in parts (a la the original "This is England" film), it was also fun and charming.

Film of the month:  We watched quite a few films this month but think the winner has to be "Deadpool" - a superhero movie which was considerably different to all other superhero movies

Book of the month: Three books read this month and my favourite was "The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August". A book about time travel but not in the way you would expect - Harry August lives the same life over and over again, each time he dies he is then born again on the same day and year as the previous life but with all of the knowledge from the previous life.  It takes a while to get your head around the concept but once you do the whole idea of the book is really interesting and makes you think about how even the slightest action can make an impact on everything else that happens from that point.

Ear worm of the month:  A blast from the past - Primal Scream!  Their latest single, "Where The Light Gets In" is one of their more "poppy" songs and has a super groovy feel to it.

Favourite food of the month: An absolute no-brainer - the baby back pig ribs from Pig's Ears in Richmond.  I have pretty high expectations of ribs having been spoilt by the ones from the Thai restaurant I used to work at many years ago but the ribs I had this month totally lived up to and possibly exceeded my expectations!

Best day: Tourist Day with Mr Jones!  We spent a huge chunk of the day in the Tower of London and I absolutely loved it.  Read more about it here!

I use Collect to gather and sort out all of my "photo a day" pictures but do tend to also upload them to Instagram…want to see each picture from the last month?  Let's be friends!

  1. Wow! Great work doing a photo per day! I've been enjoying the real feeling of spring the last couple weeks. I didn't realize I missed the way the sun seems to shine this time of year. XOXO
