Photo a Day 2015: July

Cider, smoked garlic, jam and a massive mushroom from Dart's Farm, Exeter

July started with a bit of a heatwave in parts of the country.  I was lucky enough to escape the ridiculous temperatures as I was in Devon where it was a lot cooler.  The rest of the month just went downhill - rain, clouds and chilly enough at some points to consider turning the heating on.  Ridiculous!
July was pretty exciting for me as I bought a new car!  Not "new new", just a little newer and less clunky/dented that my previous one.  I didn't even venture into trying a new make or model, it's almost identical to my old Peugeot 206 but a slightly different colour and back doors!  Yep, I really know how to live on the edge!

The end of the month wasn't so fantastic unfortunately.  My sinuses went mental and I had a Crohn's flare up so completely lost my appetite which for someone who loves food as much as me was extremely frustrating!

Earworm of the month: Sometimes at work when I need to get stuff done without distraction I plug myself in to YouTube and work my way through various playlists.  My go-to genre at the moment transports me back to my teen years - Britpop (I'm still working on it but here's my playlist so far)!

Anyhoot, on my musical travels I came across "We're Going to Miss You" by James.  I've been a fan of a couple of their songs but found this to be just fantastic and had it on loop for aaaaages!

Film of the month: "Pitch Perfect" - I make no secret of loving a good "girly" film (Bridesmaids, Bridget Jones, Legally Blonde, etc) so have no idea why in the 3 years since it was released I've not watched Pitch Perfect!  To be honest, I think it's because I thought it was going to be too much singing for me.  Yes, there was singing but it was really, really good!  Overall it was a feel good comedy and I will most certainly be watching Pitch Perfect 2!

Tv of the month: "Homeland" - why oh why did I not watch this when it was first out?!  After pretty much binge-watching seasons 1 and 2 I am hooked.  The plot has twists and turns and is totally gripping and Claire Danes and Damain Lewis are brilliant together!

Favourite food of the month: John West steam pots - I've been trying to eat pretty mild/plain/simple food to give my insides a bit of a rest (thanks, Crohn's!) and these little pots have really helped!  Easy to make and gentle on my stomach but still really tasty and filling!

Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
