Quorn Samosas

I'm not a vegetarian but love using Quorn in my meals because it's a healthier option and really quick to prepare!

The mince is perfect for tacos and chilli - you don't have to worry about defrosting it like you would with beef mince, just throw it into the frying pan with the other ingredients.

Want a quick weeknight stir fry?  Try the "chicken" pieces!  Just take out the quantity you need from the freezer and again, pop it in the pan with your favourite veggies.
The burgers are so meaty and filling you will forget they don't actually have meat in them, the sausages make a mean toad in the hole, the swedish meatballs make a quick and healthy lunch and the cocktail sausages are a welcome addition to any "nibbly buffet".

If you've ready my other posts you might see a bit of a theme...I LOVE trying new things and can never resist adding a new find to my basket when I visit the supermarket.

When I saw these Quorn samosas I had no plan of what I was going to eat them with, I just new I needed to try them!

You can eat them hot or cold but anything that involves pastry needs to be hot out of the oven, right?!  They looks just like any other samosa that you would find in a supermarket - a golden brown triangle dotted with poppy seeds.

I heated them in the oven for 10 minutes and served with some mango chutney.

The flavour was spot on!  All the Indian spices you would expect - garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika...the pastry was soft but a little crisp on the edges.  The texture was also perfect - chunky pieces of Quorn and tomato.

The best bit is that with 2.7g of fat per samosa that's about a quarter of the fat you would get in a meaty samosa!  It's practically a health food!

Even Mr Jones, an avid meat-eater thought they tasted amazing!

Are there any other non-veggies who can't get enough of Quorn?

P.S Quorn didn't ask me to write about their new samosas, I just love sharing my new food discoveries!
