Happy "Bee-day", Burt's Bees!

Burt's Bees Heritage Collection - the perfect gift for a Burt's Bees lover!

Burt's Bees were celebrating their 30th birthday and posted a competition on Facebook - all you had to do was leave a "bee-day" greeting.  So, I thought I'd try my luck!  Not long after entering, I got a message saying that I'd won something from their Heritage Collection.  You wouldn't believe how excited I was!  I LOVE Burt's Bees!  I've been using their lip balm for decades so the chance to try out more of their products made me happy beyond belief.

Here's the message I left them (excuse the typo)…

I have very fond memories of feeling around the toe of my Christmas stocking until my fingers touched the little round tin at the bottom.  The minty smell of the beeswax lip balm can still to this day conjure up happy memories.  Most of my beauty and skin care products have changed over the years but one thing has remained a constant - my Burt's Bees lip balm!  I'm talking 20 years or more!

While my blog is generally food related, I love all of the treats I received so much that I couldn't help but share!

The Heritage Collection contains all of Burt's Bees classics so whether you're a long term fan or a Burt's "new-bee" it's a fab variety and will help keep you moisturised and smelling delicious!

Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm tin - so moisturising for your lips! The peppermint oil makes your lips tingle

Beeswax Lip Balm Tin

It's made with beeswax and coconut oil which your lips will love - I've heard that the paraffin that you find in a lot of shop bought lip balms isn't absorbed very well and can sometimes make your chapped lips even worse so the natural ingredients in Burt's lip balm will work much better.  The peppermint oil gives it a refreshing scent and you get a little tingle when you first put it on plus it's just so smooth!

If you don't like lip balm in a tin, did you know you can also get it in stick form?  I also highly recommend the honey lip balm which is as moisturising as the peppermint one but with a really delicious honey smell.  I've noticed that they also have a coconut and pear lip balm which might make an appearance on my Christmas wish list…

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is honestly the best cuticle cream I've ever used with the added bonus of a fresh lemony scent!

Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

My paws hate this time of year - it's colder outside, the heating at home and at work is drying and I find that my hands suffer the most.  I can honestly say that within one use of the cuticle cream I saw a massive difference!  Again, no nasties in the ingredients list just almond oil, beeswax, lemon oil, cocoa butter and a few other things.  And the smell.  The smell!  Lemon has to be in my top 5 favourite scents - it's just so refreshing and zingy!  This is now firmly in my skin necessities list!  Be right back - just need to go and pamper my cuticles…

If your hands are in need of some love and moisturisation, look no further than Burt's Bees Hand Salve - it's super dense so can soften even the roughest of hands!

Hand Salve

If your hands are in need of more than just hand cream then this is the tin for you!  Packed with olive, almond, sunflower, soybean and canola oil this is not your ordinary lotion…it's a solid balm rather than a cream so a little really goes a long way.  It has a delicate herbal scent of lavender and rosemary which I just love (and can't stop myself from sniffing).  I put some on after washing up and could immediately feel my skin thanking me and can imagine it would be excellent for someone who has a job or hobby that's a little more intense than my keyboard based lifestyle!

A little goes a long way - Burt's Bees Almond Milk hand cream smells of marzipan and is so moisturising!

Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme

One of the things I love the most about all of these products is that you really don't need to use that much and this hand cream is no different.  It's like marzipan in a jar but don't let the dainty sweet smell fool you, this is really powerful stuff!  Dab a little on your hands, rub in and any dry skin will almost instantly feel miles better!

Give your tired tootsies a treat with Burt's Bees Peppermint Foot Lotion - when rubbed in, the peppermint oil will help your feet feel so refreshed!

Peppermint Foot Lotion

This was a little thinner than other foot lotions I've tried in the past but it still works really well.  I rubbed it into my heels, popped some thick socks on and went to bed - when I woke up the next morning my poor dry heels looked and felt so much softer!  The peppermint oil gives your feet a little nudge to wake up and it has some amazing ingredients that can combat feet that might have been trapped in shoes all day…

Coconut Foot Creme I was expecting something similar to the peppermint foot lotion however when I squeezed a little of this out of the tube it was more like a gel and the scent isn't quite like what you would imagine a coconut cream to smell like - it wasn't as sweet.  As with the peppermint lotion I rubbed some into my heels after a shower, on went the trusty socks and the cream worked its magic while I slept.  It had all absorbed by the AM and not a hint of dry skin!

Doesn't it all sound amazing?!  I feel like such a lucky girl to have won all of these my skin actually has a chance of staying well moisturised this winter, that's for sure!  Thank you so much, Burt's Bees!  Happy 30th birthday to you and may there be many more to come!

*I won this in a competition run by Burt's Bees and have not been sponsored for this post.  My reviews are based entirely on my own opinions
