Word Cloud Art

how to make beautiful word cloud art which is a perfect gift for a loved one

I've admired word clouds for some time now but for some unknown reason I had no clue that there were word cloud generators out there on the internet so image my delight when I came across Tagxedo!  I played around on it for a while turning this little blog, my Twitter account and various other websites and then had a brainwave!

Instead of websites and social media accounts, why not use words that are meaningful to create beautiful personalised art for yourself, as presents or for special occasions - Mother's Day, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries?!

With Christmas looming I decided to make a framed print for my mum with words from the lovely time we spent together in London for her 50th birthday.

I printed out the heart I created in black and white - I wanted it to stand out from the background and also wanted the sequins to be visible.

Use the paper that comes with the frame as a template to cut out some fancy paper which you'll use as the background.

As I picked a pink background I wanted the sequins to match so used two different colours and stuck them on the dots over the "i"s (also known as tittles, superscript dot or a jot!).

Once the sequins had dried I positioned the cut out heart where I wanted it on the paper and used a little glue to keep it in place.

Top tip - give the glass in the photo frame a good polish on both sides...there's nothing worse than framing something beautifully and then finding fingerprints (or cat fur in my case!).

Ta-da!  All done!  Quite easy to make, meaningful and looks stunning!
